Built during the Civil War era, the Historic Courthouse is Minnesota's oldest surviving courthouse. Tours are available, on which knowledgeable guides narrate the building's unique chronology, including tales of the local Indian tribes who fought fiercely on its turf, the legendary Zion's Hill. A Civil War monument also lies on the premises, which are in downtown, just east of Washington Park.
